Darcy Seaver (1984) (Dungan-Seaver)

Dungan-Seaver, Darcy 51, of St. Paul, died Sept. 9, after nine years of treating and healing from breast cancer. Darcy grew up in Milwaukee and received degrees from Barnard College and UW-Madison. Darcy worked for a number of Twin Cities nonprofits and most recently she worked for the State of Minnesota Health Department's Office of Rural Health and Primary Care. There, she helped write and bring into law the International Medical Graduate Program, which helps place immigrant physicians in rural MN. Darcy was an editor, writer and researcher, and used her skills to promote social change and speak for those who have no voice at the table. She loved playing board games with her family and poker and Scrabble with her women friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Carol Seaver and Ted Seaver. Survivors include her husband of 19 years, James; sons Simon and Leo; brothers Jon Seaver, Tim (Elizabeth) and Ted; and many cousins, friends, and colleagues. Celebration of Darcy's life is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Wigington Pavilion at Harriet Island Park, 200 Dr. Justus Ohage Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55107.
