COLD CASE #23 - HOMICIDE

Victim: Jon G. Seidl

OCCURRED: 10-19-88

Jon was found in front of his residence at 4981 N. 85th Street. He was suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest. Jon was returning home from UWM where he was a computer engineering student. He was walking southbound on on N. 85th Street from a bus stop on W. Villard Avenue when he was shot. The suspect may have fled into Vogal Park via a walkway that parallels Jon's residence. Jon later died as a result of the gunshot wound. He was 22-years-old.

He was survived by his parents.

Jon was so sweet and I think of him often and still have letters we wrote to each other. Miss him loads...

I was just thinking again about the senseless tragedy that took our friend, Jon Seidl and I am still saddened that 35 years later, Jon's death remains unsolved. I remember the good times Jon, Milton Davis, Scott Kaiserling and I had as one of the bowling teams. We had so much fun together. Jon was just one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. Rest in Peace, my friend!
